Developing Green Space

Volunteers make an important contribution to our work; we always welcome volunteers at all of our sites. If you would like to know more email volunteering@ayseesww.com.

Weโ€™re helping to โ€˜greenโ€™ London; whether thatโ€™s working with local councils to develop and maintain public & amenity spaces, or with housing developers to make the best use of their โ€˜meanwhileโ€™ spaces (which can also be easily moveable) or with schools and other commercial organisations to bring as much sustainable green space to their urban environment as possible.

Public and Community Spaces

Professional landscaping and maintenance services include:

  • Soft landscape design

  • Planning consultation
  • Grounds & garden maintenance
  • Community engagement workshops & education

We have proven track record in London Boroughs including Ealing, Hounslow, Wandsworth, Hammersmith & Fulham and Brent, working with multiple stakeholders in a considered and nurturing way to achieve maximum impact.

You can see the results of our green fingers at:

  • South Acton industrial estate, Wildflower meadow
  • Kew Gardens Allotments & Community Garden
  • Acton skate park
  • Chiswick Civic Centre
  • Turnham Green Meadows

Residential Developments and Private Gardens

At whatever stage we are engaged in a process we provide a highly professional landscaping and maintenance service for a range of clients. Weโ€™ve worked on a number of iconic and innovative developments across London including; Brentford Lock West, Acton Gardens, Sunrise at Southall and Old Oak Common.

Many sites we have been engaged from the very beginning where weโ€™ve cultivated the site initially to make use of the โ€˜meanwhileโ€™ space and this has grown into landscaping of the developments themselves.

Clients include:

  • Isis Regeneration
  • Countryside Properties
  • London and Quadrant
  • Dexters
  • QED Urban Sustainable Developments
  • Garden Designers including Helene De Witte.

Meanwhile Spaces

Weโ€™re at the forefront of Meanwhile space uses, creating vibrant communities by bringing temporarily redundant space into productive use. Cultivate London HQ is a prime example; weโ€™re based on an old car park, on land rented from Ealing Council that will ultimately be developed as part of the Acton Gardens Development.

We unlock underused spaces in London for the benefit of community cohesion and environmental benefit. This is typified by finding wasted space, transforming unloved visible, interesting, dilapidated, difficult land, into something green, productive and useful to the local communities.

So far weโ€™ve used Meanwhile spaces for:

  • Green corridors
  • Wildflower meadows
  • Food growing
  • Community planting
  • Bee keeping

All this helps to visually enhance an area, increase the local communityโ€™s appreciation and usage of their local green spaces and helps counterbalance environmental impact caused by urbanisation.

We work with some inspiring and innovative organisations who see the potential for these spaces to be used in positive ways whilst they await their next destiny. These companies include amongst others; Ballymore at Brentford and QED Sustainable Urban Developments at Hope Garden, Acton and Marston Court in Hanwell.
